DNHN - The northern border province of Quang Ninh is expected to welcome back visitors from March 15 as the locality strives to restore tourism services with 65 events and stimulus programmes to be launched this year, according to local authorities.
Major events which will be held this year include a tourism scheme to elevate Quang Ninh as a safe destination, the Quang Ninh Culture and Tourism Festival 2022 in Hanoi, Carnival Ha Long, an Ao Dai festival, culinary shows, Ha Long Bay cruises, alongside activities to welcome athletes to compete at some sports of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31).
Quang Ninh has planned to design a range of unique products in a bid to attract approximately 10 million visitors this year, including 1.5 million international arrivals.
To fulfil the goal, the province will ramp up tourism promotion activities via both face-to-face and virtual forms, strengthen connectivity with other key localities in order to launch new tours, organise promotional programmes in a number of international markets, and develop fresh tourism products such as golf and adventure tourism.
Vu Thi Van Oanh, deputy head of Ha Long City's Culture Department, said COVID-19 prevention and control measures will be tightened at all locations to ensure visitors’ safety.
