DNHN - The "Quang Ngai Colours" programme, a cultural, gastronomic, and tourism festival event infused with the identity of the land and people of Quang Ngai, will soon be available to Quang Ngai residents in Ho Chi Minh City.
Notably, a natural agarwood tree will be auctioned off during this programme to raise money for numerous humanitarian endeavours, including buses that will transport Quang Ngai's impoverished residents back home for Tet.

The Quang Ngai Businessmen Club in Ho Chi Minh City's Chairman, Mr Nguyen Van Binh, has announced that the Quang Ngai Colours programme will be held at Dong Ho Garden (195-197 Cao Thang, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) on January 12 and 13, 2024. In collaboration with the Quang Ngai Businessmen Club, the "Back to Our Hometown - Quang Ngai" Club, the "Connecting Love" Club, and the "Quang Ngai Student Club in Ho Chi Minh City," the Quang Ngai Association in Ho Chi Minh City is in charge of organising the programme.
This is a cultural, gastronomic, and tourism festival that highlights the uniqueness of Quang Ngai and its people, helping to draw attention to Song Tra, the ancestral home of Nui An, from both domestic and international tourists. Guests to the event will be able to savour foods such as don (baby basket clam), ram bap (corn roll), xu xoa (glass jelly), Song Tra goby fish, Mo Duc malt, Ly Son garlic and more that are imbued with the rich flavours of Quang Ngai.
Many other significant activities are also included in the programme, like giving scholarships to Quang Ngai students in Ho Chi Minh City, showcasing Quang Ngai OCOP products, promoting the people, land, and socio-economic development accomplishments of Quang Ngai, and so on.
Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan stressed during his speech at the meeting on January 3rd that this is a significant occasion and that participating units must show accountability for the program's success along with a cooperative spirit.
The Vice Chairman specifically asked that OCOP items showcased during the event be authentically Quang Ngai, high-quality, in high demand, certified for food safety, and possess a distinct provenance and certification.
A significant feature of the event is the auction of a real agarwood tree, which measures 50cm in diameter, 2m in height, and weighs 30kg. This is another development. The entire auction earnings will go towards funding buses that transport the underprivileged back home for Tet, providing scholarships to deserving students, and organising other worthwhile events for the underprivileged around the Lunar New Year in 2024.

Along with coordinating with the provincial radio and television station and Quang Ngai newspaper to prepare promotional content and produce feature reports introducing the people, land, and socio-economic development achievements of Quang Ngai to be screened at the programme, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
