DNHN - Vietnamese labour import and export enterprises have expanded their market and improved the quality of their services, increasingly becoming an important force in providing labour for other countries.
The development of the Vietnamese labour export industry is driven by many factors, including Vietnam’s stable economic growth and supportive government policies. These policies include creating a favourable environment for labour export enterprises, ensuring the rights and safety of workers, and promoting cooperation with labour-receiving countries.
Accordingly, the community of Vietnamese labour export enterprises has expanded its market to many countries around the world, such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and European countries. At the same time, the industry has diversified its sectors, focusing not only on manual labour but also on intellectual labour and experts. This has created new opportunities for Vietnamese workers and contributed to increasing the added value of labour exports.
According to the assessment of the Vietnam Association of Manpower Supply (VAMAS), major markets such as Japan and South Korea, in addition to the programmes that the two sides have signed such as EPS (South Korea) and IM Japan (Japan), these countries are promoting the attraction of high-quality, highly skilled human resources from Vietnam.
Regarding this issue, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan said that the Party and the State have issued many policies and strategies to send Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contracts in parallel with the trend of international economic integration.
The policy of sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad for a fixed term is a way to solve employment, create income for workers, and increase foreign currency for the country. At the same time, it contributes to strengthening cooperation in many aspects between Vietnam and countries that use labour based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, respect for the law, and each other’s national traditions.
According to Mr. Hoan, the above policies and strategies are concretised by important milestones. In 1991, the Government issued Decree 370/HDBT on the regulations for sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad for a fixed term. In 1998, the Politburo issued Directive No. 41-CT/TW on labour and expert exports.
Notably, the community of Vietnamese labour export enterprises has focused on improving the quality of services and ensuring the rights of workers. These enterprises have invested in training and developing skills for workers before they go to work abroad, and regularly inspect and supervise the working conditions of workers to ensure safety and fairness.
The development of Vietnamese labour export enterprises has made an important contribution to the country’s economic and social development. Creating income and jobs for workers has helped raise living standards and reduce poverty for many families. At the same time, the transfer of labour resources to the country has contributed to balancing trade and improving Vietnam’s foreign trade situation.
However, despite remarkable achievements, the Vietnamese labour export industry still faces some challenges. Enterprises need to continue to improve the quality of services and train skilled workers to meet the increasing demands of the international labour market. In addition, it is necessary to focus on protecting the rights and ensuring the safety of workers when working abroad.
At the same time, competition with other countries in the labour export industry is also a significant challenge. Developing value-added services and finding new markets are also important factors in maintaining and expanding market share.
Therefore, many Vietnamese labour import and export enterprises have made significant progress in expanding the market and improving the quality of services. This development has created job opportunities, and income, and made a positive contribution to the country’s economic and social development. However, it is necessary to continue to promote efforts to meet market demands and face future challenges. The government and enterprises need to cooperate closely to create a favourable environment and protect the rights of workers, thereby ensuring the sustainable development of the Vietnamese labour export industry.
