DNHN - In recent times, the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) programme has been of interest to all levels, sectors and localities of the province, which has been implemented with clear results, contributing to the development of the agricultural economy.
Currently, there are 249 OCOP products in the province from 3 stars and above, including one high-class Hoai Trung tea product that has been recognised as a five-star OCOP product, and 54 four-star products.
There will be two more potential products (Thanh Ba purple tea bud of UT Tea Investment and Development Company Limited and clean rice noodles from the village of Hung Lo rice noodle cooperative) proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for consideration and assessment to meet the five-star OCOP standard.
After being recognised, the products have improved in quality and design, increased value, met market demands, and formed many product chains with large output and high value such as Hoai Trung tea, Thanh Son sour meat, Hung Lo rice noodles, etc.
Determining that trade promotion is a key part of the programme, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued documents to the People’s Committees of districts, cities and towns to notify the entities participating in displaying and introducing products at trade fairs and festivals such as Vietnam Agricultural Products Festival - Vinh Long, Vietnam Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival 2023, Ha Nam International Trade and Investment Fair, fairs in the provinces: Lao Cai, Hoa Binh and Hanoi, etc.
In addition, the Department has also coordinated with districts, cities and towns to select typical enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities and OCOP entities to participate in displaying and introducing products at the 19th Vietnam Craft Village Fair organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Hanoi. At the same time, maintain and develop points of sale and introduce OCOP products.
The effective implementation of the OCOP programme in the province has made a positive contribution to the rural economic sector, promoting and improving the capacity of entities, especially in the craft village sector, cooperatives, and small and medium-sized enterprises in organising production and trading of agricultural products characteristic of each locality through product standardisation, promoting and developing the market.
Mr. Tran Tu Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: To continue to implement the OCOP programme with results, in the coming time, it is necessary to have the attention, leadership and close direction of all levels of Party committees, authorities, the active participation of entities and the close coordination of departments, sectors and mass organisations; creatively apply mechanisms, policies, and have appropriate methods of resource mobilisation to support the programme. At the same time, continue to promote propaganda, trade promotion, market development, and product promotion, and create conditions to support economic organisations and production households to participate in promoting, marketing, introducing and consuming OCOP products at fairs inside and outside the province, through e-commerce activities, product introduction points, linking with tourism routes and festivals in the area.
