New possibilities for cooperation between Hai Phong and Flanders and Belgium partners

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, spoke at the conference's opening session. The friendship and cooperation between Hai Phong and Belgian organizations and businesses have flourished in recent years, according to Hai Phong. There are currently eight FDI projects in the city funded by Belgian investors with a total investment capital of $556 million. The majority of the projects concentrate on industrial park infrastructure and maritime services, electricity production, and hotel investment. This conference will create a venue for businesses from Belgium, Vietnam, and the city of Hai Phong. Future Hai Phong cooperation activities will be practical."
Mr. Jan Jambon, Minister - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Culture, Information Technology, and Facilities Management of Flanders Region (Belgium), emphasized: "The Kingdom of Belgium in general, and the Flanders region, in general, have many strengths and opportunities in which we can strengthen cooperation, including key industries, service industries, logistics, clean energy, alternative energy, petrochemical industry, and transportation. This conference is an opportunity for Flanders, the Kingdom of Belgium, and Vietnam to exchange perspectives, and best practises and lay the groundwork for future cooperation. This is also a chance to strengthen partnerships and cooperation. The dialogue on sustainable infrastructure and smart logistics will assist all parties in achieving common objectives and overcoming future challenges."
At the conference, speakers and businesses from Flanders, Vietnam, and the city discussed and clarified challenges for seaport development in general, Vietnam seaports in particular, and the Hai Phong seaport in particular; shared their experience with seaport development; and identified future trends in seaport development. Find solutions to promote sustainable seaport development, including promoting the development of Vietnam's seaports by the master plan for developing Vietnam's seaport system for the period 2021-2030, with an eye towards 2050. Speakers identified the port development trend for the foreseeable future as the construction of green ports, the strengthening of connections behind the port, the application of new technology, blue - -logistics trends...
The conference also witnessed the signing of a contract between DEEP C Green Energy Company Limited (Vietnam) and Polarium Vietnam Company Limited (Sweden) for the purchase and sale of Renewable Energy Certificates. Specifically, Polarium Vietnam will acquire Renewable Energy Certificates from DEEP C to become the first company in the DEEP C Industrial Park to operate its facility solely with renewable energy (100% green energy).
In addition, Camco Technologies NV (Kingdom of Belgium) and Hateco Hai Phong International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (HHIT) signed a memorandum of understanding. Consequently, Camco will implement both the automatic gate OCR system and the STS gantry crane OCR system at HHIT. Through this partnership, HHIT affirms its objective of establishing a close connection between the largest port in northern Vietnam and the European and American markets.
