Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Will remove infringing movies on the network environment

DNHN - The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has decided to establish a working group to oversee the management of online film dissemination activities. Consequently, infringing films will be stopped from playing or removed.

According to the VNA, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will assign the working group on management of the situation of film dissemination on the Internet the tasks specified in the Law on Cinema, the decree detailing several articles of the Law on Cinema, and the tasks under the provisions of the Law on Cinema.

The working group on the management of film dissemination activities in cyberspace has ten members, including the director of the Cinema Department, Vi Kien Thanh, as well as two vice-teams and seven additional members.

Including the receipt of dossiers; responding in writing to requests for recognition of eligible films available on the Internet; publishing the names of businesses, non-business units, and organizations that have met the criteria for film dissemination on the Internet; constructing and managing data system on film classification; granting or revoking film classification permits to businesses that do not meet the requirements.

In addition, the working group examined the film's content and displayed the classification results in cyberspace; received the list of films that will be played on the network and returned the classification results; and coordinated with relevant units to implement measures to prevent viewers from accessing the infringing film. For unsatisfactory films, the unit will ask the film's publisher to stop playing the film or even remove it.

Regarding the management of online content, the Ministry of Information and Communications previously announced that in May it would conduct a thorough inspection of TikTok in Vietnam and deal with violations.
