ITPC welcomes Austrian Trade Counselor: Unified to create numerous activities promoting commerce and investment

DNHN - Mr Tran Phu Lu, Deputy Director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Center of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC), met with Mr Dietmar Schwank, Austrian Commercial Counselor in Ho Chi Minh City, on the afternoon of March 9, 2022.

Mr Dietmar Schwank expressed his appreciation for the collaboration connection between Vietnam and Austria over the years during the meeting. Dietmar Schwank planned to expand trade and business relationships and organize several events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Austria and Vietnam (1972 - 2022).
The Austrian Trade Office highly appreciates ITPC's cooperation in supporting and inviting businesses to the event "Austria Technology Day in Southeast Asia 2022" taking place in January 2022.
The Austrian Trade Office hopes that ITPC will continue to support the Austrian business delegation specializing in technology and solutions for water treatment, waste, infrastructure development, green agriculture and environment... to visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City in May 2022.
At the same time, the Austrian Trade Office wishes to coordinate with ITPC to organize the Austrian Technology Exhibition so that Austrian businesses can introduce technologies and products and organize a conference to connect B2B between Vietnamese and Austrian businesses in HCMC.
The Austrian Trade Office requested that ITPC arrange and invite departments, associations, businesses, research institutes, and corporations such as Sawaco, Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, and Mekong Delta partners to the aforementioned activities.
MMrTran Phu Lu, Deputy Director in Charge of ITPC, expressed gratitude for the collaboration of Mr Dietmar Schwank, Austrian Trade Counselor in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr Tran Phu Lu stated his willingness to further strengthen the bilateral trade and investment connection with Austria in light of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the fact that Vietnam has contained the Covid-19 outbreak and opened to foreign partners.
ITPC recognizes Austrian enterprises' numerous strengths in sectors such as smart cities, infrastructure, green agriculture, and the environment, all of which are areas of interest to Ho Chi Minh City and require investment. Additionally, ITPC seeks to link with Austrian enterprises in sectors where the two nations excel, such as food and agriculture, electrical - electronics, plastics, textiles, and footwear, in light of the recent implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
ITPC is prepared to assist an Austrian business delegation travelling and conducting business in Ho Chi Minh City in May 2022. It is requested that the Austrian side provide further details regarding the delegation's program, including cooperation topics, objects and areas of collaboration, enterprise size and composition, and precise timeline, so that ITPC can provide greater support. ITPC will assist in inviting departments and agencies to attend the Conference and present investment-related projects in Ho Chi Minh City, while also inviting connected firms to participate in the B2B Connecting Session.
ITPC would like to encourage Austrian businesses to participate in the HCMC FOODEX 2022 Exhibition, which will be held in September 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City. ITPC is also looking forward to meeting with representatives from the Vienna Trade Promotion Agency (Vienna) to further discuss trade and investment collaboration between the two cities.
Finally, ITPC will arrange for a delegation of city officials to visit and work in Austria together marwith ket intelligence and maybe establish an HCMC product week there.
