DNHN - According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (Ministry of Transport), nearly 37 million passengers were passing through airports in the first four months of the year, a 55% increase over the same period in 2022.
In April 2023, the nation's airports welcomed 9.17 million passengers, a 2% increase from the previous month. There are 2.65 million international tourists and 6.51 million domestic tourists among these visitors.

During the same period in which the number of international and domestic passengers has increased significantly, the volume of goods passing through airports has decreased dramatically. In four months, airports utilized only 378,400 tonnes, a 24.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. Notably, international cargo only reached 272,000 tonnes in 2022, a 32.1% decrease compared to the same time frame.
According to data from the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, domestic airlines transported 18.2 million passengers in the first four months of the year, a 56% increase compared to the same period in 2022. There were 4.6.6 million international passengers and 13.6 million domestic visitors.
The leader of Noi Bai International Airport reported that during the five days of public holidays, the airport served nearly 2,700 flights and over 422,000 passengers safely.
Comparatively to the same period in 2022, the number of domestic flights and passengers remained constant, whereas the number of international flights increased by 86% and the number of international passengers increased by 299%.
