DNHN - On September 9, 2022, the delegation of Long An province led by Mr Nguyen Thanh Hai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Long An Province National Assembly Delegation - will visit and operate in Japan. The group was led by An, who attended the Vietnam Investment Environment Forum in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

Nguyen Minh Lam, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the forum to provide an overview of Long An province's socioeconomic situation, the province's strengths in attracting investment, and, in particular, the situation of the investment patterns of local Japanese enterprises.
As a result, Japan is presently the fourth country among 36 countries and territories with investment projects in Long An, with 130 projects totalling more than 480 million USD. These initiatives not only benefit local socioeconomic development but also bring the image of Japan and the Japanese people closer to the people of Long An province.
According to Mr Lam, the administration of Long An province is now working on changing administrative procedures, investing in infrastructure development, and training high-quality human resources to better than the needs of foreign investors in general, and Japan in particular. Long An's ambition is to become an industrially developed province and one of the most significant manufacturing hubs in Vietnam's southern area. The locale, in particular, stressed the importance of the Japanese business community in assisting Long An province in achieving this aim. The province administration of Long An is committed to creating the best possible environment for Japanese enterprises to learn, invest, and conduct business locally.
The Vietnam Investment Environment Forum in Kanagawa is part of the event "Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa" (September 9-11, 2022), which is coordinated by Kanagawa Prefecture (Japan) and the Embassy of Vietnam. South Japan organized collectively. After a two-year break owing to the effect of the Covjd-19 epidemic, the event was reorganised this year with the attention of a significant number of individuals and the Kanagawa Prefectural business community. It is known that the event has drawn around 1,600,000 visitors in the previous five years.
The team from Long An province also met with the Governor of Kanagawa province, Yuji Kuroiwa, on the sidelines of the Forum. Mr Yuji Kuroiwa stated during the conference that Long An is a viable investment site for Kanagawa enterprises. There have been three projects of Kanagawa provincial firms investing in Long An province so far. He believes that Long An province will continue to collaborate with Kanagawa province in the future to promote and attract more Kanagawa firms to invest in Long An, as well as to support the initiatives of Kanagawa enterprises that have been operating locally.
Mr Nguyen Thanh Hai thanked the Governor for hosting the event and establishing good conditions for Vietnamese communities in Kanagawa Prefecture to engage and meet the Japanese business community. Mr Hai stated that Long An province will encourage all Kanagawa firms to invest in the area. At the meeting, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Long An province requested the Governor of Kanagawa province to visit and work in Long An to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2023.
