Hoa Binh: exporting 1 ton of Son Thuy longan for the first time to the EU market

DNHN - On August 12, in Xuan Thuy commune (Kim Boi), Hoa Binh province's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Kim Boi District People's Committee and FUSA Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company held a ceremony to export the first shipment of Son Thuy longan to the EU market. Attending the meeting were the Chairman of Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh.
2016 is a year marking a transformation in the consumption of Son Thuy longan when it was granted protection by the National Office of Intellectual Property "Collective Trademark". Followed by a series of certificates issued on food safety (2016); VietGAP (in 2019); OCOP (2020) have helped the Son Thuy brand reach further domestic and foreign markets. This is also the first product of the province to be granted a planting area code in 2019 - considered as a passport for this product to be officially exported to the international market. Which, one of the most difficult markets is the EU. Up to now, the total area of longan in Xuan Thuy commune has reached nearly 200 hectares, and the Son Thuy agricultural service cooperative has 34 hectares.
All technical requirements from the EU market for fresh fruit and vegetable products have been strictly completed by Son Thuy longan growers from 2019 to now. Most recently, the Son Thuy label sample has had analytical results at a laboratory appointed according to EU standards, all 3 samples have met the technical requirements of 821 food safety inspection criteria as required. by the EU.
The first shipment of longan exported to the EU market had a total quantity of 1 ton. Longan is produced, packed by Son Thuy Agricultural Service Cooperative, Xuan Thuy Commune and transported to the export market by FUSA Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company - a unit that has accompanied the agriculture and rural development industry in exporting many aspects. agricultural products of the province.
The Agriculture and Rural Development sector of Hoa Binh province has set a goal from now until the end of the longan crop in 2022 to export 50 tons of Son Thuy longan to the EU market.
