DNHN - The Department of Culture and Sports recently collaborated with the Department of Home Affairs to organize the exhibitions "Celebrating the 68th Anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day," "Hai Phong Integrates and Develops Through Archives,"

In the early hours of May 13, 1955, 68 years ago, the entire population of Hai Phong welcomed our troops with joy, excitement, and pride as they took control of and liberated the city. The historic victory on 13 May 1955 exemplified the Party's all-people, all-encompassing, long-term, self-reliant resistance line, led by President Ho Chi Minh. This victory has entered the heroic history of the Party Committee, government, people, and armed forces of the city of Hai Phong; it serves as a benchmark for the city's army and people to inherit, fight, build, and develop; and it has made significant contributions to the Party, army, and people as a whole in achieving great victories. The 68 years since liberation from Hai Phong (1955-2023) are a unique and crucial period. Numerous accomplishments in the fields of economy-culture-society, security-defense, and others have contributed to the port city's identity today.

The exhibition is open from now until May 13 and features more than 100 archives and nearly 300 photographs, documents, and statistical excerpts. The exhibition not only introduces viewers to the historical moments of the people of Hai Phong through several documents relating to the city's founding and the event of Hai Phong Liberation Day on May 13, 1955, but also summarises the city's recent great achievements, breakthroughs, and impressive development results.
The exhibition contributes to introducing Hai Phong as a successful destination for investors, providing an opportunity to promote to domestic and international friends the socioeconomic accomplishments of the Party Committee, the army, and the people. street accomplished in the past; laying the foundation and premise for promoting the city's socio-economic development, attracting domestic and foreign investment, and contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the 16th Party Congress of the city, as well as Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the Theme of 2023 "Promoting urban embellishment and modernization-Building a model new countryside-Implementing digital transformation."
