Force 389 of Hanoi City handled nearly 1,000 cases of smuggling and commercial fraud

According to a representative of Hanoi's 389 Steering Committee, the city's functional inspection and control forces exacerbated the smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods situation in March 2023. Consequently, functional forces in the Steering Committee of 389 cities inspected and examined 1,120 cases in March; handled 983 cases, including 79 cases of banned goods and smuggled goods; counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations account for 78 cases; and commercial fraud accounts for 826 cases. Total state budget revenues and expenditures amount to 305 billion VND 281 million.

As a permanent agency of the 389 Hanoi Steering Committee, the Hanoi Market Management Department handled 83 cases and administrative fines totaling 1,411 billion dongs in March. This force inspected and handled 1,060 cases during the entire first quarter; transferred 19 cases of smuggling and commercial fraud to the police agency for investigation; and issued administrative fines totaling more than 15,3 billion VND. The value of goods confiscated exceeds 7 billion VND, while the value of goods destroyed exceeds 14.5 billion VND.

To contribute to stabilizing the market situation, Mr. Chu Xuan Kien, Director of the Hanoi Market Management Department said that in the coming time, the market management teams will continue to review, inspect and control the area. , especially in the environment of e-commerce business, and online sales.
