DNHN - Not only is the export fish fillet sector steadily reaching out to challenging markets, but "descendant" items such as fishmeal, fish fat, fish oil, bones, and fish offal are now commodities. Domestic and international markets are "hungry" for these items. Because this is a high-value input material source, it is used in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medicine, nutrition, animal feed, and fertilizer.

In particular, because the cost of imported raw materials is so high right now, the processing sector sees it as a "gold mine" to look for an alternative supply from pangasius by-products that are high in nutrients and priced competitively.
The cost of imported raw materials is skyrocketing.
The pandemic is still complex, and the Russia-Ukraine crisis is acting as a shock, causing the price of imported raw materials for the processing sector to rise steadily. As a result, many industrial companies find themselves in a tough position.
According to the most recent Ministry of Industry and Trade data, the industrial output index climbed by 7.5% in the first four months of 2022 compared to the same time last year. However, owing to a lack of raw materials, high costs have hindered the expansion of industrial output in several sectors.
The rise in raw material costs has a major influence not only on the growth plans of firms on the "track" to recover from the epidemic but also on the "big boys."
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the price of imported biodiesel oil has continued to rise in this cycle compared to the previous 15 days. Input materials for other processing sectors climbed rapidly with oil costs. In which the price of fishmeal climbed by 49 percent, the price of vegetable oil, shortening, and margarine increased by 12 to 17 percent, thereby creating "headache" for many enterprises in the food sector and forcing them to refuse to decrease their consumers. In particular, several manufacturing units have broken even or compensated for losses caused by the expenditure team in the past.

The fundamental problem in removing the challenge of input materials for the processing sector is to create solutions, limit the source of imported resources, and aggressively connect local raw material providers. If this issue can be resolved, corporations will be able to cut expenses while increasing product pricing. More information was provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
