Establishing a website to educate the public against online fraud

DNHN - The National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC) has also linked the website to the National Cyber Portal at https://staging.khonggianmang.vn/ for ease of use and search by the public.
Google and the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC) launched the website DauhieuLuadao.com (Sign of Fraud) on April 1 to increase awareness about online fraud.
Accordingly, DauhieuLuadao.com (scam signs) provides typical fraud situations, helping people to recognize the very popular fraud methods currently in Vietnam and around the world, and the "principles" yellow” in behaviour for self-prevention. The site is built on top of Scamspotter.org, a joint project between Google and the US Cybercrime Support Network.
Mr Nguyen Xuan Quang, Deputy Director of the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC), stated: "Online fraud has become more complicated in Vietnam over the last few years."
The damage is growing, from scratch cards with a face value of several hundred thousand dongs for fraudsters to hundreds of millions of dong in bank transfers because they believe "relatives" are experiencing an urgent problem. Particularly, some victims have lost up to billions of dong as a result of falling for scams via email, phone, or online scams such as calling for online financial investment.
In particular, online fraud has increased sharply since the outbreak of Covid-19 in Vietnam. According to NCSC, in 2021 alone, there have been more than 1,000 online fraud websites, impersonating banks and financial institutions that have been prevented and handled.
NCSC collaborates with Google on DauhieuLuadao.com to localize some content while also building and supplementing typical scam situations that frequently occur to Vietnamese consumers. As the name implies, Dauhieuluadao.com gives information on popular cybercriminal phishing techniques and content. These objects frequently target sensational newsgroups, fake news from the company or acquaintances, or make threats by impersonating authorities, an employee of an e-commerce floor, or a large brand. They employ a variety of psychological tricks to manipulate the audience, making them passive and easily duped by scammers.
