DNHN - On September 27, 2023, at the KBIZ Building, Seoul, Korea, the Long An Province delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of Long An province.
Vice Chairman of the Korean Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (KBIZ), Mr. Jeong Yoon Mo, presided over the meeting and collaborated with the Group. The Korean Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (KBIZ) was founded in 1962 with the purpose of protecting the rights and interests of 7.1 million Korean small and medium-sized businesses, as well as promoting the balanced development of the economy in accordance with the government's priority policy to support and promote the growth of Korean small and medium-sized businesses domestically and internationally.
In Korea, according to KBIZ Vice President - Jeong Yoon Mo, small and medium-sized businesses account for more than 99.9% of the total number of businesses and 90% of the labour force. Consequently, it is the responsibility of KBIZ to actively support the activities of Korean small and medium-sized enterprises by locating and fostering a conducive business environment so that they may participate under favourable conditions. Therefore, KBIZ believes that there will be more connection activities and close coordination with Long An Province in the future in order to create favourable conditions and develop special support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) investing in Vietnam in general and Long An in particular across a variety of fields.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, speaking on behalf of the provincial leaders of Long An and the Working Group, thanked Vice Chairman Jeong Yoon Mo, the Board of Directors, and KBIZ members for the warm welcome extended to the Working Group. hospitably during this trip to Korea. The two countries have become "Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partners" as a result of their excellent relationship. Since the signing of the Vietnam - Korea Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA), economic cooperation between the two nations has continued to intensify and expand. There are currently more than 200 active projects by Korean investors in Long An, ranking the province second in terms of number of projects and third in terms of investment capital with nearly $1 billion USD; Korean projects in the province have made significant contributions to the local economy. In the future, the Province hopes that KBIZ will actively connect Korean investors with provincial information and investment opportunities. Together with their commitment to Korean investors, the provincial leaders of Long An are always consistent in their direction and their efforts to form partnerships with Korean investors.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son presented the geographical location, investment environment, development orientation according to the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, and priority areas such as the development of the province immediately following the opening remarks of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai. Developing synchronised and modern urban technical infrastructure, smart urban areas, and transportation infrastructure; environment; high-added-value service industries.
