Japanese businesses are interested in Thanh Hoa's strengths.
According to Japanese investors, the province of Thanh Hoa has met several requirements to attract FDI enterprises in general and Japanese enterprises in particular.

Mr Mikijun, Idemitsu Kosan Group's Project Manager in Vietnam, stated that, to date, the company has implemented eight mining projects employing a total of 1,700 people. From gas mining in the south to projects involving the trading of petroleum products, the processing and trading of lubricant products, the production of wood pellet fuel and the construction of solar power plants... This project is executed in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, with commercial operations commencing in 2018. Approximately 1300 employees are currently operating this system. We received a great deal of support and assistance from government agencies in Vietnam and the provincial government of Thanh Hoa during the completion of this massive factory project.

According to many investors, Japanese businesses choose Thanh Hoa as an investment destination because Thanh Hoa has an abundant labour source, a developed transport infrastructure system, and most notably a motorway system. Furthermore, Thanh Hoa has established the Japan Support Department (JAPAN DESK) and a special economic zone, making it an attractive investment destination. They admire the efforts of the provincial government of Thanh to attract investment to the province.
At the conference, the Japanese ambassador emphasised: "I believe Japanese businesses will continue to pay close attention to Thanh Hoa province shortly. A typical example is the retail group AEON, which plans to begin construction on a shopping centre this year, with an anticipated opening date of 2025. On this occasion, I hope to receive a great deal of assistance and support from the provincial government. I also hope that the successful implementation of this project will create favourable conditions for investment solicitation in the province."
In many fields, Japan is Thanh Hoa's most important partner.
There are currently 17 Japanese-invested projects in Thanh Hoa province, with a total registered capital of approximately USD 6.6 billion. This represents 45.7% of the total FDI investment capital, making Japan the country with the most investment capital. The highest level of FDI investment capital is in Thanh Hoa province, where several large-scale projects have been implemented, becoming the nucleus and generating spillover effects throughout the province, the North Central region, and the South Northern Delta.
Additionally, the province of Thanh Hoa has 13,346 trainees who will work in Japanese factories in the textile industry, industrial sewing, electronic assembly, mechanical processing, processing, construction, agriculture, and cashew nursing.
