DNHN - CBT offers a novel, more in-depth method of discovering the local culture to weary travelers who have grown tired of the traditional methods.
With its unique appeal, community-based tourism is dominating today's diverse tourism market. Community-based tourism offers a new, closer, and more in-depth way of discovering the local culture to visitors who have already engaged in traditional tourism activities.
With the presence of 18 suburban districts and cities, Hanoi has become a remarkable focal point. Hanoi is distinguished by its rural characteristics, historical relics, and intangible heritage. unique and diverse culinary system. The city has decided to develop community-based tourism by combining new rural construction based on traditional cultural values, landscape environment, and community input in the development process.

To create a model of CBT that is sustainable, the first step is to raise people's awareness and equip them with the necessary skills. Because the community is the central figure in this type of tourism. The Hanoi Department of Tourism has coordinated with localities to implement support activities designed to encourage residents' participation in the tourism economic chain. People are educated and equipped with the skills necessary to welcome guests and create high-quality tourism products.
During the month of May and the first week of June, the Hanoi Department of Tourism coordinated with districts, towns, and cities to organize training courses for locals on civilized tourism behavior and community tourism. There are tourist attractions in the communes of Ha Mo (Dan Phuong district), Phu Yen (Phu Xuong district), and Duong Lam (Son Tay town). Hundreds of people are eager to participate because, up until now, they have been accustomed to traveling according to routine and have lacked the skills necessary to serve tourists and develop local tourism.
During the training, everyone listened to experts share a great deal of information regarding the advantages of tourism, the creation of tourism products, serving skills, and communicating with tourists. The purpose of these activities is to foster the growth of traditional craft village tourism and connect it to the growth of new rural areas. Based on particular local assets, forms of community-based tourism such as craft village tourism, experience tourism, and community tourism can be developed.
According to tourism industry experts, for individuals to participate in the tourism economic chain, a shift in awareness and the acquisition of knowledge and service skills are required. Developing a sustainable model for community-based tourism necessitates close collaboration between local authorities, tourism businesses, and local communities.
Hanoi has made remarkable strides in developing community-based tourism over the years. However, there are still numerous obstacles to overcome and work to be done. Only through consensus and close coordination from all stakeholders can community-based tourism become a significant resource that contributes to the local community's sustainable development and quality improvement.
