DNHN - The 6,601 kWp rooftop solar project is expected to supply 8,656 MWh of clean electricity per year to Uni-President Vietnam, helping the company optimize energy costs and reduce CO₂ emissions.
On October 23, 2026, CME Solar and Uni-President Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement to deploy a rooftop solar project with a total capacity of 6,601 kWp, expanding the use of renewable energy in industrial production.
Under the plan, the system is expected to generate approximately 8,656 MWh of clean electricity per year to meet Uni-President Vietnam’s on-site power demand. Harnessing solar energy at the factory is expected to help the company optimize electricity costs without requiring upfront capital investment in the system, under the project’s cooperation model.
Beyond the economic benefits, the system is expected to avoid approximately 5,355.5 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, helping reduce the environmental impact of production. It is also one of the solutions enabling the company to gradually meet environmental and sustainability requirements in the global supply chain.
As environmental standards receive growing attention, shifting to renewable energy is not only an efficient energy solution but can also strengthen the competitiveness of manufacturers. Rooftop solar makes use of factory roof space to generate electricity for on-site operations, helping businesses take greater control of their energy needs.
As an investor and developer of renewable energy projects, CME Solar provides rooftop solar solutions for manufacturing, commercial and industrial facilities. The partnership with Uni-President Vietnam further expands the company’s presence in this segment, linking economic efficiency with the goal of reducing environmental impact.
Expanding the rooftop solar project portfolio
According to the company, in 2025 alone the total capacity of rooftop solar projects that CME signed, managed and operated exceeded 160 MWp. Over the course of its growth, the company has worked with many FDI customers and organizations in the industrial and commercial sectors, including Samsung Electronics Vietnam, Hyundai Kefico and AEON Mall.
Together with the projects deployed in 2026, the rooftop solar systems developed, managed and operated by CME Solar and its joint-venture partners have supplied tens of millions of kWh of renewable electricity. This has saved factories, industrial parks, shopping centers and airports tens of billions of VND in energy costs. According to figures provided by the company, these projects also help reduce tens of thousands of tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
The partnership between CME Solar and Uni-President Vietnam on the 6,601 kWp project continues this trend of bringing renewable energy into production activities, placing operational efficiency alongside the requirement for sustainable development.
Uni-President Vietnam is a member of Uni-President Group (Taiwan), a leading food and beverage group in Asia. Operating in Vietnam since 1999, the company manufactures animal feed, aquafeed, instant noodles and beverages, and is committed to improving efficiency and pursuing sustainable development.
