DNHN - Recently, a delegation from Can Tho led by the chairman of the city's people's committee, Tran Viet Truong, travelled to France on business to promote cooperation, solicit investment, and attend the Transformation Summit.
The delegation met with Pierre Baillet, permanent secretary of the International Association of Francophone Mayors, to discuss projects the two sides are jointly implementing, such as supporting equipment for schools, improving skills for women, and environmental sanitation. Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang lauded Can Tho City's efforts over the past decade to promote and cultivate relations with French municipalities and French partners, and reaffirmed the Embassy's readiness. The delegation also met with experts from the French Development Agency (AFD) to solicit funding for the city's priority projects in the fields of health, information technology, and agriculture. At the meeting with the Vietnamese Embassy in France, Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang welcomed the delegation's business trip to France, especially in light of the two countries' 50th and 10th anniversaries of establishing diplomatic relations.
