DNHN - The Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province to organise a programme to plant trees and award national flags and scholarships to several economically disadvantaged units, students, and households.
Principally, on the afternoon of June 2, 2023, at the School of Politics of Binh Phuoc province, leaders, agencies, and departments of Binh Phuoc province and leaders of press agencies met and exchanged information. Contribute to the socioeconomic development of Binh Phuoc province by coordinating activities and further promoting information and communication.
In coordination with the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province, the Vietnam Journalists Association will organise a programme to plant trees and award national flags and scholarships to several economically disadvantaged units, students, and households on June 2-3, 2023, in preparation for the celebration of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21 and in response to the Government's "Tet planting trees forever grateful to Uncle Ho" initiative.
The programme is attended by journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Mr Tran Ngoc Thuan - Chairman of the Vietnam Rubber Association, and more than 40 leaders of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the Ho Chi Minh City Central Committee and business leaders.
The representative of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper attended and gave symbolic representations of 10,000 flags in the component "Flag of the Fatherland and Borders", and 5,000 flags in the component "Flag of the Fatherland" to provincial leaders and representatives of some households; awarded 50 scholarships worth 100 million VND (2 million/scholarship) from the Scholarship Programme for ethnic minority students and poor students established and initiated by former Standing Dep.
Ms Tran Tuyet Minh, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province shared at the meeting, "In recent years, Binh Phuoc has implemented the socio-economic development plan alongside the rest of the country. On the occasion of International Children's Day on 1/6 and the beginning of "Action Month for Children", the delegation held an award ceremony in Dong Xoai City, Dong Nai, and Soc Bom Bo communes (Binh Minh commune), Bu Dang district. Donated the national flag, 100 cartons of milk (sponsored by Vietnam Dairy Products Company - Vinamilk), and scholarships to students (including ethnic S'Tieng children). In addition, the delegation donated two solar lighting devices to the Bu Dang Protection Forest Management Board (sponsored by Vinh Thuan Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company) and five cows to poor households in the Dong Nai commune (sponsored by Southern Power Corporation).
This is a programme with many profound meanings, both practical to commemorate World Environment Day on June 5 and Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21, while also contributing to social security, and environmental protection, combining cohesion, and promoting propaganda and information for Binh Phuoc, a province in the Southeast region that faces many challenges. Simultaneously, the programme contributes to the strengthening of the solidarity and friendship between colleagues of Ho Chi Minh City's press agencies, the Ho Chi Minh City central press, and the Binh Phuoc province press under one roof.
