10 typical startups receive $10,000 in support from Qualcomm Vietnam

DNHN - To continue the development of their projects over the next eight months, ten startups from a variety of fields will receive a total of $10,000 from Qualcomm Vietnam.
Qualcomm Technologies Inc, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, has just announced the list of companies that have entered the incubation phase of the "Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2023 - Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2022 - QVIC 2023" program.
10 startup teams from key technology fields, such as smart cities, robotics, automation, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart agriculture, will receive USD 10,000 per team to continue developing their project over the next eight months while participating in the incubation phase, which includes technical support, business coaching, and training in intellectual property knowledge. In addition, teams will receive assistance with patent filing costs and have the opportunity to win cash prizes worth 100,000, 75,000, and 50,000 USD in the final program.

Launched officially in December 2019, the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge aims to identify and cultivate innovative startups operating in Vietnam's promising technology sector. With the support of Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology, the program aims to develop a rising technology ecosystem by identifying and supporting small and medium enterprises that design 5G products, IoT, machine learning, smart cities, wearables, and multimedia that use Qualcomm Technologies mobile technologies and platforms and can benefit from the expertise of Qualcomm's experts in these fields.
The ten selected companies will participate in the incubation phase, during which they will receive business and technical guidance from Qualcomm's R&D lab in Hanoi, as well as assistance with problem-solving. occurred during the plan's development by the Qualcomm team. ML/AI (machine learning/artificial intelligence), camera testing, audio, RF signal testing, and thermal and modem troubleshooting are provided by the Hanoi lab of Qualcomm.
This list contains notable companies such as Alpha Asimov Robotics. Alpha Asimov Robotics is not particularly well-known, but its founder is. Nguyen Tuan Anh, the founder of Alpha Asimov Robotics, formerly served as the founding director of Grab Vietnam and the CEO of VinID.
Next Robotics, a division of FPT Software that competes in the field of robotics, was established in December of last year. Next Robotics focuses on autonomous intelligent robot products (NextAMR).
According to this startup, NextAMR is the first widely commercialized industrial self-propelled robot developed by Vietnamese people. In addition, Next Robotics is developing warehouse and distribution center-specific robots.
Only one candidate on this year's list of 10 startup groups is female. This is 1988-born Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, General Director of Wiibike Vietnam Technology Joint Stock Company.
Wiibike Vietnam is a green traffic technology startup that was founded in 2019. Wiibike's primary product is a line of electric power-assisted bicycles powered by Lithium-ion batteries (chemistry Nobel Prize winner in 2018), which are more eco-friendly than electric bicycles powered by lead batteries.
Wiibike CEO Nguyen Thi Thu Hang has launched a new model at 81 Nhat Chieu (Tay Ho, Hanoi) – A bicycle care, maintenance, and repair center, following a successful capital raise at SharkTank Vietnam. Customers can charge their vehicles, refuel, and receive free maintenance at this location.
Vice President of Engineering at Qualcomm, Dr. Tran My An, stated: "This is the first year that we have received a significant number of applications from Central Vietnam. Two companies from Da Nang have been chosen to participate in the program in 2023. This year we also received the most applications compared to previous years, which demonstrates the success of the program and the strengthening startup ecosystem in Vietnam. QVIC supports digital transformation initiatives in Vietnam ".
