The tourism cooperation exchange between Vietnam and India took place in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the Hello Vietnam Festival (Namaste Vietnam) 2023, with the participation of more than 50 travel and tourism companies from around the globe. Both nations. The program provides new opportunities for the wedding and scenic tourism industries and aims to develop low-cost tourism, laying the groundwork for a long-term relationship of cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Madan Moha Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the significance of tourism in uniting the two nations' populations. Respect for each other's culture and customs will have a positive effect not only on the political relationship but also on the commercial aspect, as well. India and Vietnam are currently observing. We encourage Vietnamese tour operators to promote domestic tourism in India.
The highlight of the exchange was the business connections between the two nations. At the event, 25 Vietnamese and 25 Indian travel agencies had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, laying the groundwork for future long-term cooperation.
The outlook for wedding tourism in Vietnam
Mr. Shakti Singh Kavia, co-founder of Travel Recipes, expressed his desire to create a form of tourism in Vietnam that incorporates weddings. "In India, marriage tourism has been a popular trend for approximately ten years. Increasing numbers of Indians are planning their weddings abroad. Vietnam may also be an option. "they will find it interesting," he said.
Mr. Kavia asserts that Vietnam has a price advantage. According to him, organizing a wedding tour in Vietnam can be less expensive than in India. The abundance of scenic locations is another factor that attracts tourists.
Vietnam has a great development opportunity in wedding tourism
Mr. Sunil Gupta, a representative of Super Travel Company, praised the wedding tourism potential in Vietnam. "Indians often spend a great deal on weddings. Relatives and close friends are more likely to attend an event held far from home. There are groups of up to 300-400 people attending the wedding exclusively. In Indian culture, the wedding has great significance," he explained.
Mr. Sanjay Kaushik, director of Rajputana Company, offered a personal explanation for the recent surge of Indian tourists to Vietnam: "In India, people frequently accompany them. Previously, they selected Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. I anticipate a significant increase in the number of visitors to Vietnam beginning in 2022."
Vietnam - An alluring tourist destination for Indians
Mr. Sanjeev Tulsian, the president of India Holiday Options, shared his impressions of Vietnam: "Before visiting, I believed Vietnam to be a third-world nation. But when I arrived, I arrived. I feel as though I am in Singapore. The streets are clean, the traffic is steady, and the entire area is secure. The trip has inspired me to convince more clients to choose Vietnam."
Since the beginning of 2023, Mr. Tulsian's company has brought between four and five Indian tourists to Vietnam per month, on average.
The event of tourism cooperation between Vietnam and India has generated numerous new opportunities and opened the door to the possibility of extensive tourism cooperation between the two countries. Increased promotion and development of unique tourism services, such as wedding tourism and sightseeing tours, can create a prosperous future for both Vietnam and India's tourism industries.
