The inaugural Central Highlands Ethnic Cultural Festival commences at Kon Tum.

DNHN - The Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, organised the Opening Ceremony of the inaugural Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups in the Central Highlands, 2023.
Companions such as General To Lam, Minister of Public Security and Member of the Politburo; Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Member of the Party Central Committee; Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council and Member of the Party Central Committee, National Assembly Standing Committee; and representatives of leaders from various branches and ministries of the central government were in attendance at the opening ceremony.
Among those present on the side of the Kon Tum province were the following: Comrade Le Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of departments, branches, and branches of the province; Comrade Duong Van Trang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Representatives of the leaders of five Central Highlands provinces; and over a thousand actors, including singers, artists, and artisans.
During his inaugural address, Minister To Lam underscored the consistent dedication of our Party and State to the sustainable and all-encompassing progress of the Central Highlands region. Numerous resolutions, directives, and conclusions have been published since the reform. Consider this matter. Resolution No. 23, adopted by the XIII Politburo on October 6, 2022, delineates the trajectory of socio-economic progress and guarantees national defence and security in the Central Highlands through 2030, with an eye towards 2045. It establishes the following: "Construct an advanced culture in the Central Highlands, characterised by a profound national cultural identity, unity amidst diversity, and reverence for the distinct cultural values that distinguish ethnic groups; regard this as a catalyst, the cornerstone of the region's progress;"
By consistently implementing the Cultural Development Strategy until 2030 and the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, the inaugural Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Minorities in the Central Highlands will undeniably evolve into a significant event. It is a juncture of convergence and diffusion where ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands can engage in dialogue, meet, and share experiences, thereby assisting in the promotion of the region's majestic beauty, distinctive national culture, and human image. The establishment of a reputation for excellence in the Central Highlands among both domestic and international stakeholders will increase investment prospects and stimulate tourism growth in the region, with a specific focus on the province of Kon Tum. As of this moment, the Central Highlands continue to be a region that safeguards numerous intangible and tangible cultural heritages that are both historically significant and aesthetically pleasing, including communal houses and dwellings. The Festival encompasses a variety of activities, including a mass cultural festival featuring traditional national costumes, performances featuring excerpts from festivals and rituals associated with traditional ethnic cultures, and the introduction of such material. Promote, introduce, and exhibit indigenous customs; Propagating artistic photographs that capture the distinctive cultural hues of ethnic minority groups residing in the Central Highlands region in tandem with the progress of the nation; Food preparation, presentation, and introduction; exposition "Cultural characteristics of the Central Highlands ethnic groups in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups"; Ethnic folk games and athletic activities; Promotion of tourism and promotional endeavours.
During the Opening Ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, Deputy Head of the Festival Organising Committee and Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, declared that the Festival of Culture, Sports and Tourism was underway. The ethnic groups of the Central Highlands were initially organised with the assistance of the provinces of Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, and Dak Lak.
The festival provides artisans, actors, and athletes with an opportunity to showcase their skills while also honouring the fine traditional cultural values of the Central Highlands ethnic groups and the spirit of great national solidarity. Contributing to the preservation and promotion of ethnic groups' cultural identities; Engaging in meetings, interactions, and the exchange of experiences; Increasing consciousness and a sense of duty in the construction and advancement of Vietnamese society and its populace by the sustainable development objectives of the nation as outlined in Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the 11th Party Central Committee and Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party; Facilitating the propagation and development of
The festival will be held between November 29 and December 1, 2023, for a total of three days.
