A delegation from Long An Province paid a visit to Japan

DNHN - The delegation of Long An province, led by Mr Nguyen Thanh Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Delegation of the National Assembly of Long An province, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador Vietnamese restaurant in Japan on the morning of September 5, 2022. Mr Vu Hong Nam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan, welcomed the delegation.

Mr Nguyen Thanh Hai told the Ambassador of the working agenda of the Long An provincial delegation in Japan during the meeting. Accordingly, the primary objective of this province's business trip is to encourage Japanese corporate investment and establish connections with Japanese communities to execute labour-related cooperative content. In addition to the program of organizing the Investment Promotion Conference in Long An Province in Tokyo, the delegation will visit, work, and organize a Workshop to introduce the human resources of Long An Province in Ibaraki Province, in addition to attending the Forum Vietnam investment environment in Kanagawa province.

During the discussion, Ambassador Vu Hong Nam praised the province of Long An's delegation's work agenda, which had several engaging and practical components. In addition, the Ambassador stated that Long An province is a location with significant growth potential and a very attractive investment destination for Japanese companies. The Ambassador vowed that in the future, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan will work more closely with the relevant authorities of Long An province to promote cooperation activities between localities, Japanese businesses, and organizations and Long An province in a variety of disciplines.

Previously, under the cooperation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, a delegation from Long An province met with EREX Group, a Japanese manufacturer, power supplier, and industry leader in biomass electricity. It is known that this is the second meeting between provincial leaders and EREX group leaders. According to the Group's President and CEO, Mr Honna Hitoshi, EREX Group is planning to plant material areas (super sorghum) and invest in the development of a biomass power plant in Long An province. The governments of the two nations have provided full funding and substantial assistance for these initiatives.

Mr Nguyen Minh Lam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province, stated during the meeting that the land and raw materials in Long An province are ideally suited for the EREX group project. The community has also identified a possible location for the factory's construction and a material-growing region for EREX Group to survey. In terms of policy, Long An province is now collaborating with central levels to include the EREX Group thermal power plant project in the country's general planning (Power Plan VIII) to proceed with the following phases. While awaiting the Government's overall strategy, the two parties have agreed to continue coordinating and analyzing the project in the future period.

The group also visited and worked with the Tokyo, Japan office of Esuhai Co., Ltd (Esuhai Company) on the morning of September 5. At the meeting, the company's officials briefed the group about the establishment and growth of Esuhai Company, the company's mission, and its plans. Within the company's overall ecosystem development plan, Esuhai Company's management highlighted the significance of training and human resource development in Long An province.

Mr Mai Van Nhieu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had high praise for Esuhai Company's activities. Mr Nhieu stated that the company's emphasis on educating skilled labourers and foreign languages is very congruent with its strategy of enhancing the calibre of local human resources. Furthermore, Long An province is a location with vast labour resources, and there is a high demand for qualified personnel to fulfil the rising demands of foreign-invested firms in the province; consequently, the potential for collaboration between Esuhai Company and the locality is enormous. Shortly, provincial officials of Long An will ensure that Esuhai Company can function efficiently in the region.

In the afternoon of the same day, a team from the province of Long An saw many contemporary model homes constructed by the Sumitomo Forestry Group. In addition, the group met with officials of the Group's leadership to discuss the collaboration project between Thang Loi Real Estate Joint Stock Company and Sumitomo Forestry Group, which would soon be executed in Long An province.

Mr Nguyen Thanh Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Long An province, stated at the meeting that the authorities of Long An province highly value the potential for cooperation between local firms and the Sumitomo Forestry Group. Currently, the group is also investing in the Long An plywood production project of Vina Ecoboard. This is one of the large-scale local projects with successful foreign investment. The province government of Long An desires to continue assisting Sumitomo Forestry Group with the implementation of the Group's next projects.

According to the plan, on September 6, 2022, a team from Long An province will travel to Ibaraki province, where they will meet with provincial authorities, host a seminar to present local human resources, and promote activities aimed at attracting Long An province workers to Ibaraki province ./.
